I earned a master’s degree in Philosophy from West Chester University and a second master’s degree in psychoanalytic counseling from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis. I am currently licensed as mental health counselor. In 2019, I was appointed Assistant Professor of Psychology at MassBay Community College. Since 2012, I practiced mental health counseling in the US and United Kingdom with a focus Racial Discrimination, Anxiety, Personality Disorders, LGBT issues. As a professor have focused on student empowerment while embracing one’s life-story and experience. My research has appeared the Journal of Pedagogy and the Human Sciences, Journal of Human Behavior in the Social Environment, among other academic and professional forums. I believes that student success is the result of compassion and autonomy.
I utilize approaches including: Acceptance Commitment, Psychodynamic, and Motivational Interviewing Techniques. I believe therapy is solution-focused and trauma-informed. I specialize in conditions from Anxiety/Depression to BPD and Complex Trauma. My experience includes: gender identity & multicultural issues and generational differences and more. Among my other skills including work with Dissociative Identity Disorder and Racial/Ethnic Identities.
